Ed Klute was born in 1951 in Rotterdam; first he became a primary school teacher, but started working at the Vorming Werkende Jongeren Centrum in Leiden first as an employee, later as director. He also was a coordinator of the national organisation for immigrant workers (LSBOA) in Utrecht and currently he is director of Mira Media in Utrecht and co-founder of the European Organisation 'Public Broadcasting for a Multicultural Europe' (PBME). 

Ed Klute is also the initiator and coordinator of the Initiative

 'On Line/More Colour in the Media'.
