Autumn 2004: Text Book Publication

Uitgelezen? Positie van de printmedia in het mediamenu van Marokkaanse, Turkse en Surinaamse jongeren in Nederland.

C. van Summeren, & L. d’Haenens (2004) - Research report for the Dutch Press Fund about the position of print media in the media use by Moroccan, Turkish and Surinam youngsters in the Netherlands.

Proposed research program from January 2005:

Changing arrangements in media governance: challenges of professional and institutional cultures of accountability - J.Bardoel, K. Brants & L. d'Haenens.

In the context of structural changes in the media, growing criticism on media performance and increasing impact of the media on public communication this research programme addresses questions about pressures on and changes in the existing cultures of accountability in media organizations in general and the journalistic profession in particular. How are the existing institutional and professional forms of social responsibility and accountability in the media being challenged? How are the different institutions and actors responding to these pressures, and what forms of governance does it result in? How do different challenges and changes in governance arrangements affect each other?
