Education

The educational activities related to the ECE at the University of Nijmegen evolve around Media Governance and Media & Minorities.

Our Department of Communication offers a Minor European Media Policy for undergraduate students from communication science and related disciplines. This Minor consists of 3 components: (1) An overview of prominent themes in European and international media policy (in English); (2) The study of concrete cases of (Dutch) media policy-making (in Dutch); (3) An overview of research typologies as supporting or preparatory tools for media policy (in Dutch)

For graduate students three special Master Classes are developed with European content. Two of them focus on Media Governance, one on Media & Minorities.

Besides the Minor and the Masterclasses another course is offered by drs. Allerd Peeters explaining, among others, how audience research can be used as an instrument for media policy.
