Prestigious grant
for the Donders Graduate School for Cognitive Neuroscience
August 13 2009
On August
12 a delegation from the Donders Institute (Peter Hagoort, Ruud
Meulenbroek, Arno Koning and Arjan Vink) went to NWO in the Hague to receive
this good news from the Dutch Educational Minister Plasterk that the grant for
'The 'Donders Graduate School for Cognitive
Neuroscience' (DGCN) proposal was awarded.
The grant
of 800.000 euro (four PhD positions) not only implied important recognition of the
Donders Institute as a top-quality research institute that functions as a
Graduate School in which Master's and PhD students are being trained
succesfully, but also funding for four PhD projects 'new style'. Both students
from within the MSc CNS programme of the Radboud University and CNS students
from outside Nijmegen could apply for these projects.
